Lunch Time ? a7san 3shan eteshawoqoon 😛 Hathaaaa el 6abaaq kaan 7beeebiii lma knt fi Sarajevo ( Bosnia ) Kabab ??? yes it is ! but this is something waaaaaaaaaaaaaay different ! el taste mo 6beee3iii shay shay 9ak 3la akil Trukey el latheeth kilah !
Right at Galatasaray somewhere in Stari Grad , this amazing dish was served for me for the first time in my life ! so what is it ?its called ” Ćevapi ” its a grilled dish of minced meat, a type of Kebab and considered a national dish in Bosnia and Herzegovina. They are usually served of 5-10 pieces in a flatbread (somunon) on a plate , you can ask for additional chopped onions and sour cream ( I always did ). On my way to Bosnia, in a flight from Istanbul to Sarajevo , the Bosnian passenger who was sitting next to me told me this ” Don’t miss Cevapi !!! its delicious but not Nutritious ” LOL she’s totally right its too greasy but I’d say Delicious beats the not nutritious thingy 😛
How to pronounce the word Cevapi ? mthl ma sm3t el bosnian yeqooloonha o sayeqna 7afaathnii ….tqoloonha jithi ” CHEBAB ” . They are usually served of 5-10 pieces on a plate or in a flatbread (lepinje or somun), often with chopped onions ( tra lazem takloon onion upon arrival to a new destination 😛 3jeeeb you will not get sick during a trip ! ) , sour cream, kajmak, ajvar, cottage cheese.
That place serves the best Cevapi, it was highly recommended by our driver ! I dined at that place twice while in Bosnia, I’ve tried some other places that served Cevapi but that was my best ! its a little tiny restaurant, faq9ah o ntfa but I loved the seating are ! cozy o traditional ! but the chairs are not so comfortable 🙂
Many Prime ministers from all around the world dine at that place, it seems that its always recommended for those who visit Sarajevo for the first time …its easy to find that place its around one corner on one of the streets of Stari Grad ” old town ” of Sarajevo I will list the contact info below .
mafhooma wain ma nroo7 el reservation 😉
my photo should be hanged on that wall wela eshraykum 😛 Just kidding lol ..6b3an ma 3araft wla wa7ed aw wa7da min eli razeen e9warhum bs my driver qali hatha ra’ees dwla leflaniaa o hatha ra’ees wozara eldeera leflaniya .. with the owner of th eplace in all photos 🙂
elmaghsala el3jeeebah ! wash your hands after you dine ! and one more last look at the Cevapi !! yum yum !! wlaht 3leeech 🙁
The restaurant is managed by one waitress and one chef ! ( and yes when dinner is served she takes a break and smoke a cigarette 😛 nice service but they don’t speak english so well … you don’t have to look for the waitress if you need something .. the place is so small so she’s always there 😉 as long as you know the magic word ” Cevapi ” and point you hand and what kind of drink you want …you’re going to have the best meal ever 🙂
Galatasaray is owned by Mr.Tarik Hodžić former football player for Galatasaray Football Club. that explains all the photos on the walls ! o ana ma adri shesaalfaa 😛
