I took a vacation from work to go to London from September 12-21, 2013, between the summer holidays and Eid to avoid the Arabian crowd , but this London trip wasn’t like any other London trip. I was aiming for this place. So I’ve waited for the weather to become sunny to enjoy the scene. The name of the curved elephant like rock is called Durdle Door and it’s a National Heritage Site located on a coast called the Jurassic Coast due to the likeliness of finding ancient fossils in the area.
How to get there ?
To get to Durdle Door we went to Waterloo Station and took the train that heads towards Weymouth and left at a stop called Wool (a small village). The trip took us about 2:30 hours since we stopped at about 12-14 stations on the way. When we arrived at Wool station, we took a taxi to Durdle Door, around 15 minutes. Be sure to take the taxi’s mobile number because it’s a bit tough to find a taxi over there to take you back to the station.
There are two shores, the Durdle door with the carved rock and Man O’War Bay with with the unique flake ice cream photo !
After checking the place out and taking tons of photos we headed to a small village called Lulworth Cove, 45 minute walk , You can check out these places on Google Map, it’s breath taking.
Trip Duration :
The trip took us 3 hours to get there, 3 hours checking the place out, and 3 hours to get back to London.
